BANBRIDGE U17s 58 Carrick 0

November 19, 2011

After their narrow defeat at City of Derry, Bann's Under-17 side bounced back in style, running in ten tries against their Carrick counterparts.

Out-half Macauley Little kicked off the scoring with two tries in the opening 12 minutes as he dummied to pass before ghosting past the defenders. Adam Stirling took advantage of a penetrating run from Ben Cross, but the winger still had plenty of work to do when he got the ball on the "22". He stepped inside one defender and when brought down short of the line he stretched over to effect the touchdown.

With the aggressive running of flanker Richard Graham posing all sorts of problems for the Carrick defence, Little was able to put his half-back partner Josh Coyle in space from a quick penalty. The pivot had support outside but when a narrow gap opened up in the Carrick lines, he nipped through to sprint the 20 metres to the line.

With Bann now dominating in all phases they were playing with the confidence that comes with a 24 point lead.

Little duly completed his hat-trick, Coyle and Stirling grabbed a second apiece and Jason Gribben's pace saw him get his name on the try-scoring list. Not to be outdone the forwards had their significant contribution recorded on the try tally with touchdowns from the ever-impressive Graham and the direct-running lock Matthew Beck, with Little's four conversions completing the team's account.
