Omagh 4ths  42 BANBRIDGE 5THs 10

Following the journey to Omagh, Bann Fifths were slow to get to the pace of the game and found themselves two tries down after only 10 minutes.

Omagh had a larger pack and used rolling mauls very effectively to make valuable ground and to get their backline moving.  However, Bann were creating some pressure and a good run by Bann's back-row pushed them into Omagh's "22" but turnover ball allowed a long kick down-field.  Bann were unable to secure the loose ball and Omagh went in for a third try.

With the obvious pressure the Omagh pack were putting on the Bann front eight it was down to some dogged tackling by Rob Graham and Josh Watson to prevent further scores.  Bann's ball retention improved and with better supply Peter Irvine ran in from the "22" to score his team's first try.  In the final minutes of the half a 5 metre scrum allowed the Omagh No 8 to run in a further try, which was converted.

The start of the second half saw Bann play their best rugby and following a number of effective rucks Bann were able to release their backs who broke the Omagh line and three passes later were able to feed winger Matthew Copes who scored in the corner.

Following this Omagh controlled the game through their vastly experienced pack and scrum half and they scored several more tries for a convincing wining margin.
