Cromie gets Ravens call    Share

Michael CromieBanbridge prop Michael Cromie is in the Ulster Ravens starting line-up for the opening match of their season to be played against Munster in Nenagh this afternoon.

Michael, a graduate of Bann's mini and youth system has already won provincial representative honours at Ulster U-18, U-19 and U-20 levels. But this is another significant step up for the 21 year-old prop. Michael had a great season for his club last year and will play an important role this season again as Bann target one of the top four promotion places in Division Three of the All-Ireland league.

Bann have four other players on provincial duty this weekend. Hooker Jonny Murphy again lines out for the U-20s in the last game of their inter-provincial programme in Connacht.

Out-half Andrew Morrison will be in the U-19s (Clubs) squad that takes the field against Munster at Shaw's Bridge on Saturday (ko 12 noon).

The Ulster U-18s (Youth) team to take on Connacht in Galway on Saturday includes Adam Doherty at out-half and Owen Gallagher in the centre.

So it's a very important weekend for these five young players, the latest to roll off the Rifle Park production line.
