3rd time unlucky for U15's    Share

Ballynahinch  24 BANBRIDGE U15s 10

October 16, 2010

Bann travelled to Ballynahinch hoping to make it three from three in the league. But they made their usual slow start and ‘Hinch took advantage to register the opening try. This spurred Bann into action and with some forward pressure Matthew Beck crashed over to level the scores. The forwards decided to wrestle the hungrier ‘Hinch pack when the fifteen man game was needed.
Just before half time James Curry scored a fine try from a five metre scrum to give his side a 10-5 interval lead.

The second half belonged to ‘Hinch, with Bann taking the wrong options on several occasions. With their confidence increasing ‘Hinch scored two tries in quick succession to turn the deficit into a 17-10 lead.
During the final few minutes Bann took several poor options, conceding a further try and conversion to leave the final score at 24-10 to Ballynahinch.

On a positive note Michael Moore impressed in his first match back with his strong tackling and kicking, but the team know they did not turn up on the day. This may not be a bad result if the players can learn from the experience. To improve, they must play a fifteen man game and work on their decision-making.
