“On a glorious spring morning in front of a large and very vocal home support, the Under 14s played out and unfortunately lost an enthralling Cup semi-final against their well drilled Virginia opponents. The score line of 27-10 was a reflection of our opponent’s ability to better take their scoring opportunities and make more efficient use of their ruck ball.
The 14s can take much away from this match as they can the season. They were competitive from start to finish and despite a number of injuries gave the home fans something to cheer about with two well taken tries from Jamie Carville and good movement with the ball in hands.
Overall this has been a fantastic season for the Squad with 13 wins, 2 draws and only 4 losses from their fixtures. In the process they racked up 582 points and conceded just 254. Their progression from pre-season to end of season has been astonishing. A big thanks goes to the Coaching team of Noel Irwin, Cliff Harris, Raymond Reid and Stephen Porter for putting in a lot of hours on the training ground, to the parents and other family members for their support throughout the season and to the Youth committee of the Club for their hard work in the background.”
